Can anyone remmember the name of a pirate boardgame from the late 70s or early 80s? In many ways it was like a miniatures skirmish game and featured an inn setting and a shipboard setting. I thought it may have been Battline or Victory Games but a search on boardgamegeek eliminates those two companies. Any offers? Doug |

I think you are looking for Swashbuckler by Yaquinto. It was part of their Album Games series (the boxes are the size of an old LP cover) |

It was called "Swashbuckler" by Yaquinto Publications Inc. It's copyright 1980 on the rules. It was one of their 4 (?) "album" games. It opened out like a "proper" gate-fold LP, with the tavern on one inside face and the two ships on the other. As with other Yaquinto games it came with very thick "chunky chits", supposedly because the company's owner had stubby fingers and found other company's game counters difficult to pick up! |

Swashbuckler is a great little game. I still play it a few times a year. I used to have a small 3D tavern board that I played on. I gave it away 20 years ago. I really need to make a new one. The last I checked, Swashbuckler went for about $30 USD on Ebay. Definitely a game that deserves a re-release. There was a sci-fi version called Adventurer. Some of the rules in that game were easily portable into Swashbuckler. Good luck in your search. |

Just looked it up on BGG; looks like fun! How did I miss this one? I'm going to keep my eyes out for it too.

Any game that allows you to pull the rug out from under your opponents is a winner. |

Thrown chicken was a favorite in our games – right after thrown beer mugs! |

Thrown EVERYHING was fun. The barrel-rolling rules from Adventurer were fun, too. |

Hmmm, sounds like you might be able to use the free, Three Musketeer rules from Eureka's website for that sort of game. They permit you to try all sorts of heroic actions in order to gain bonus attack points vs. your enemies. Worth checking out, until you can find a copy of the other one. |

Remember to put 2 pauses after a running lunch! There was also the space adventer game, which was the same game but in a sci fi setting. A space tavern and a space ship were encluded. If you realy want one, ask holger from fantasy encounter to get one for you. You know him from crisis were he as his shop on the opposite side from your shop.
Greetings

Is this the Pirate Memory Game so popular on Little Britain? Dan |
