So yesterday was the club's second Lepanto game.
We were up to some 80 ships in total and the rules were still David Manley's Lanterna.
Once more it was a big win for the Holy Alliance. The Western weight of guns is a big game winner. We still haven't arrived at the right ratio of galleys for the battle. The Turks need more Lanternas and galiots to make their force more historical, Using Guilmartin, I've finally gotten a go idea of what the numbers should be. Also going to add modifiers for boarding from the flank and stern. Hoping to have some 120 ships for the next game.

Excellent stuff, and I'm glad you are enjoying the rules. I'm always interested to hear about rule tweaks. The paint job on those Navwar ships is lovely – I really must spruce mine up sometime!

Nice. I tried this era and just couldn't make it work for me. My ships looked like rubbish. Well done indeed!

Many Thanks for the comments.
This really is a work of love!
Will update with the next game.
And if anyone has any spare Navwar galleys to
move let me know.

Just found this thread and looked at the blog posting. That's a nice looking game.

What size are the bases you mounted the ships on?
