Someone please refresh my memory -- what nation's pikemen in the 1680s wore breastplate and soft hat? Austria I think? |

French seem to have still had it in the 1680s, though whether it was worn in the field, its hard to be sure, likely it fell out of use towards the end of the century. Pikeman 1684;

Never mind -- it appears units in various armies, including the British, sometimes kept their breastplates until at least 1685. Thanks. |
