Played the Demolition scenario at 800 points with Soviets and FJs. Game resulted in a draw.

I had my Russians moving up on my right and the Germans sent a flamethrower team over in and emergency cutoff move. Came down to a die draw with the FT going first. Oops, squad took the full 4 pins, lost several men including the NCO to massive damage and failed morale.

My left was largely a stalemate with enough firepower on both sides to keep everyone down and off and on pinned. My inexperienced squad got the worst of it, including the attention of the PzIV D until that died to my SU 85.

The game was to be decided in the middle. Germans had a chance to make the objective until they failed thier order roll and stayed pinned. My SU " only" had to drive through the ruined hamlet. My Veteran assault squad advanced and tried to add to the German pins but despite having 7 SMGs the long range, movement, and hard cover meant they didn't help.

Last turn I could still win, Germans could draw at best. It came down to another die draw. Germans went first, made thier order roll and proceeded to brew up the SU with a Panzerfaust in the side. Oh if only I had been able to go first and continue the drive through town or "if only" I had managed to put extra pins on that squad.

The game was a total blast! I still find the free iexperienced squad to be nothing more than a bullet catcher. Being free that's OK I guess. Backed up wirh a Commisar Captain they will die to a man before running away.

Game was done in 2 hours which left time for Saga TMP link

Tough luck, but that's why we use dice. Panzerfausts and MkIVd on the same table? Must have been a very late war scenario where anything that runs is used by the Germans.

Panzerfausts and MkIVd on the same table

With generic selectors the IVd is a nice choice as the Germans have other AT assets and the Howitzer s better vs Infantry.

I always thought of it more of an Early-Late War scenario or maybe even Late-Middle evil grin
