Hi, Can anyone recommend a source for scenarios for Napoleonic era games? I'm particularly interested in Napoleon's invasion of Russia and then the following two years as the Russians and others pushed the French all the way back to Paris. All sources of interest, whether books, internet, magazines. Although I'd prefer sources that are currently available! OOP sources, no matter how good they are, can be frustratingly difficult to source
. Interested in just about any level, whether Corps (Field of Glory), Divisional (Lasalle) or even skirmish (Sharp Practice or Song of Drums and Shakos). Doesn't have to be the main armies, I'd be as interested in MacDonald versus Wittgenstein around Riga. Or Brigadier Gerard tussling with Cossacks! Thanks in advance! |

Look for Power is my Mistress. A set of scenarios written for Age of Eagles covers nearly every major engagment, and most of 1812-14. Typical unit is a Large Regiment or Brigade, multiple Corps per side |

I recommend George F. Nafziger's "Napoleon's Invasion of Russia". His coverage of the northern and southern campaigns are excellent and the order of battle for both sides are worth the investment of the book. Cheers, |

There are 1812 scenarios in the General de Brigade books – Attack on the Raevsky Redoubt from the 2nd Edition rulebook, and Shevardino in the first scenario book. I'm not sure if the lack of scenarios for GdeB reflects a belief that the battles are too big to game at 1:20 with the GdeB rules (odd as they tackle big chunks of Leipzig), or the personal interests of the authors. Still, I'm sure there are some others out there on the Web. |

TooFatLardies' "A La Baionette" has a Utitsa scenario (south flank at Borodino). If you are willing to go a tad earlier, they also have an Eylau scenario. |

F.Lorraine Petre's works on 1813 and 1814 are still very readable and can be downloaded for free (although without the maps). |

Hi willthepiper, I have made some scenarios for 1812 in Russia in French magazine Vae Victis (Vinkowo, Maloiaroslavetz, Krasnoïe and Brili) and 2 more are available on my blog (Smoliany and Studienka) : atelierpa.blogspot.fr They are generic scenarios but easily adaptable to other rules sets (I hope !) |
