I've created a mixed Ally/Mercenary list for WFB 3. It is a draft copy. I need to clean up and add flavor text. I will add mini drawings later. The unit names are taken from book titles and movies. The list tries to match the range of figures made by Citadel, but I left some flexibility for other ranges, as well. No mastadon/mammoth, but I'm not opposed to one if people like the idea. Let me know what you think do far. link |

By the way, the formatting gets out of whack if you view it using a mobile device. |

Those barbarians don't have level 20 heroes with magic swords. ;) Honestly, I forgot WAB, but I was also trying for something fantastic, not historical. Maybe need more fantasy? |

Cool, but maybe add in chariots and light cavalry. Remember, different troop types were often distinguished in WFB3 merely by their equipment options, not stat different or special rules. Also, the points seem to be off (hero weapons don't have the PV modifier, Elite troops don't have stat boosts in their profile etc). What kind of monstrous hosts do they have access to? I'm thinking giant eagles and mammoths maybe. |

Hi, The Raiders can be mounted and are scouts, so that is pretty much light cav in my book. Did you have something else in mind? You are right about the weapons and unit entries, but since there really isn't much variety in the figures Citadel made, I thought this was an easier route to take. A White Dwarf, maybe 107, had some revisions for the army book. One of them was that you no longer have to modify the PV of weapons selected for heroes and wizards. It also corrected a lot of errors in the skaven and chaos army lists. I corrected the +4 Shock Elite profile. good catch. Since this isn't a full blown army list, they don't get any hosts. I don't think any of the ally or mercenary lists can take hosts, but I might be wrong about that. The chariots are an interesting idea. Maybe pulled by some kind of weird animal? I think west wind and Celtos both make horse-pulled chariots. Are there any others? |
