Another huge battle using 1/72 plastics put on at Hot Lead by Mark & Kris this time seeing the Prussians trying to take two towns occupied by the French and their various allies set in 1813 Saxony.

The homemade rules are grand tactical with the players playing the roles of senior battlefield commanders. So there are no formation changes for the Divisions other than indicating if they are all/mainly in square when fighting cavalry.

Wow, man was that IMPRESSIVE! thumbs up Great looking table and I loved all the figs.

What did a unit represent? Who made the Prussians? How long did the game last?

Thanks,

John

Each movement tray of figures represents a multi-battalion regiment or brigade and the three or four of them grouped together form a Division. (Or a "Brigade" for those darn different Prussians, I guess!)

I think it only took about 3 hours to play. I know there was time left over afterwards for me to watch another game's ending at the convention.

I don't know the figure makers, John, it wasn't my game, but one of the GMs may comment on that if he reads this post at TMP.

Yeah! The first of the Hotlead pictures. I have been waiting all week since I didn't get to go.

I've got some more to go yet too, Phong. And I'm sorry you didn't make it this year.

Looks like a mix of airfix, esci and hat from the photos I looked at. There is a huge selection of 1/72 plastics available these days.

Reminds me of the British wargamer who lives in Spain rules.

thanks Andy for the great photos of our game.the game lasted just under 3hrs,the rules are designed to facilitate large(3000+ figs)games and finnish in one evening, usually about 4hrs. the figs are a mix of esci, italeri, hat, zvezda and some vintage airfix and der kriegspielers, also many conversions. Each tray is a battalion, and each group of 3-4 battalions is a brigade.these are grouped into divisions and corps depending on the size of game, usually between 4 and 7 corps. thanks for the feedback guys and we highly recommend hotlead to anyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of a beautifully run and organized wargames con

You're welcome.
Have you considered putting the rules online (for free)?
