I bought few of them form my c1986 VDV, and I must admit that the quality of those is rather shifty IMO. The first one I bought (BMD-1P, but as far as I know, same model than basic one but with AT-4 ATGM tube)was the classic "Try before acquire" purchase, and it was rather poor show when compared to ones aquired later – the tracks were quite bend, and the edges were softened. Didnt notice before I got the other two, but also the IR-searchlight on top of the turret was missing. The other two later purchased were much nicer ones, but especially the latest BMD-1K (propably uses same basis model as BMD-1/BMD-1P) I got was a good show. The cast of the tracks wwas sharp and there was no edges missing. If the quality remains same for you, I can recommend it, especially if you need BMD, not any other soviet IFV. But few words about the BMD-2: Its not as glorious at all. I bought one alongside my first BMD-1P, and the one I aquired was extremely poor show. Half of the pieces were missing, if I remember right the packaging included only tracks, hull and the turret, lacking ATGM launcher, passenger comparement hatch, and practically every small separate cast detail. But yeah, if you need BMD-1 for your army, QRF is best option atm. Im not having good pics, but I give you what I got:
This is the allready mentioned first one I got.
Based on that sad BMD-2 – you can see the scratch built passenger comparement hatch. A bit of shrinking in the tracks too. |

@Geoff: I sent you e-mail into QRFs info. @Spleen: I decided to take one more pic, the BMD-1P visible in the pic above is, as mentioned, the first one I aquired, and the paintjob is still quite shobby, so I grabbed a quick pic showing the more recent one with better angle and (hopefuly) better overall quality – Im not much of a photographer.

Damn, that's awesome. I do love me a BMD! Looks like QRF will be getting some of my money very soon :) |

It does look nice – I might have to pinch it and lighten it up a bit :-) Email received and will respond directly. |

Awesome! :D Small request, could you add my nick or name (as a painter) to the models review box? But yeah, I propably should stop acting as a pirate of the internet and return this hijacked thread back to its orginal owner. |
