I'm excited about HaT's upcoming sets of German East Africa troops in 1/72.

I think these will be available by the end of 2013.

The start of the British opponents is here: hat.com/Prev/Wagon/Bkd.html

and HaT already has Indians: hat.com/Othr9/Miziel10P.html

I've been keeping an eye on these as well.

It will be really great if HaT makes sets of King's African Rifles, Belgian Force Publique, South Africans, and Portuguese.

Even the porters in the Ruga Ruga set are most useful. I'll use them for Lost World Safari games.

Sweet. These are great.

They've been working on these for several years,I think.Looking forward to them and the Brits as well.I think Bolt Action would do well with it,

It looks like the next release is E22. I think this might be before June (Sassanids Yay!), followed by E24 and E25 in the last two quarters. It's nice to see the German colonial forces are already finished. I think they're just perfecting the production mold, packaging, etc.

Maybe the black smoke material that's available for wrecked vehicles (Battlefront or GF9- I believe) teased out would work well as a bee swarm?

Yeah, I have been waiting on these for a while now. I cannot wait!

Thanks,

John

They look much better than the Airfix WWII Japanese I converted into askaris long ago.

Re Bees – cover a plastic disc with the teased out smoke as recommended above then attach to an aircraft moving stand at a height that is a few inches off the table. Use a variation die to determine movement Any base that comes into contact with the swarm is disrupted,is forced to break cover, flee and be available as a target

We were discussing this last week.Since alot of the African war was small actions out in the bush, consider having random lion strikes, snakebites,or hippos attacking along a riverbank as well.

Some Portuguese infantry would also be useful.
