I have 6mm ECW units where each foot base is a pike and shot regiment. Could I use these for Age of Gunpowder?

AoG uses 1 base is 1 unit so yes, you could use your regiment bases, There basing system is square bases. However, WRG bases worked in some of their other games so any sort of basing scheme should work for AoG as well.

From the little I've seen, pike and muskets are separate bases though in AoG

From what I can figure out from the rules, pike formations are actually pike and shot formations. The separate muskets are commanded shot and forlorn hop and so forth. There is a blurb about how to base them and the pike formations definitely have shot for figures as well as pike.

Pike and shot formations are usually fielded as bases of "pike" in AoG. The "Pike" designation covers all troops that relied on melee and close combat rather than standing off and shooting.

This does result in the oddity of Aztecs and the like fielding "Pike" units. There are also bases of pure pike (elite pike), commanded shot, etc, but for most bases a mix of pike and shot troops will be fine.

Yes, your 6mm units will work without any trouble at all. I have played AoG quite a lot, seperate bases for Pike (PI) and Musket (MU) is the way the rules outline it with MU being able to attach to PI and becoming co-located. As long as everyone has the same sized bases there will be no problem.

Good set of rules if you like fast play, but has some limitations if you are planning more than one per side players on the field. We found that the moral clock thingy got a bit convaluted with games with more than 1 player per side.
