A free download of nicely presented rules.

I can only find one link here under the search system and wondered whether anyone had much experience of the system. I am particularly interested as to whether these will play OK on a smaller table with corresopondingly fewer units in play.

I played a few small games of Severed Union at home. There are a few interesting mechanics behind it, but the movement rules really need some work IMHO. The basic movement rate is painfully slow and to move faster penalizes your troops.

I used my troops based for fire and fury with no trouble.

The Artillery rules were OK. Personal preferences for me are firing whole sections or batteries at a time, as opposed to 1 gun so I found the artillery mechanics a little unpleasant. O

On the whole, though, the game does have a good flow to it and, as you said, is presented very well. You should def try them out for yourself and form your own conclusions – don't take my word for it!

Speaking of Gordon and Hague, they are a great company. I pre ordered the 15mm troops and G&H came back to me telling me they could not immediately fill my order. The company was courteous and asked me to wait. For my troubles they are giving me an extra box of 15mm minis. That being said, no minis delivered yet, but since I have not gotten around to my ACW projects for the year, I can wait :)

Thanks, I am about to print the rules off because they do look nicely set out. Oddly, I can't find the link now that I used for the actual free rule download (or can find them and they don't work, I though I got them via boardgamegeek). I wonder whether they have dropped it while they change from being 10mm to 15mm focussed, perhaps some of the graphics (pictures and diagrams) are changing as they don't actually mention base size.

I only downloaded a few days ago!
