I recently bought a batch of figures on Ebay, and it turns out they are by Tin Soldier. They are differently proportioned to other makers, and can't really be mixed with any range that I have seen from other makers.

That being said I find they have a quirky charm and are certainly easy to handle and paint and at £2.00 GBP per pack are remarkably cheap by todays standards

I'm seriously tempted to buy more and create an army with a bit of 'feel' to it.

What do others think of them ?

Agree the quirkiness and price point are attractive. Have assembled a Sucessor army for just those reasons. And they take a "DIP" very well.

Always liked their fantasy figures – both 15 and 25mm. Did not realise they were still going though, so must browse them.

I assembled a Ptolemaic army using Tin Soldier and was very happy with the results.

Oh, they are still going OK.

The figures I need to turn my Ebay purchase into a DBA army arrived this morning

I have not painted their figures yet but from what I've seen I have to agree with you. They have a certain "charm" to them. I own a few Punic cavalry. The figures seem big compared to Essex. I like them a lot though.

I love Tin Soldier miniatures, they have wonderful aztecs, medievals, byzantines and other ranges. The company has never responded to one of my e-mails so I tend to buy figs elswhere when I can't get info from them. -Paul

Hi Paul, not my experience at all, they responded quickly, sent me lovely figures and were very cheap. Did you order through TS UK?

Really like their 15mm Gallic foot. Also, they were incredibly beyond-the-call-of-duty helpful when I dealt with them.

Cheers,
Aaron
