For those of you who have made your own custom dice, especially by printing out symbols onto sticker paper, how have you protected the faces from wear and tear?

I was thinking PlasticKote, but am afraid it might thrown the dice off too much, especially if it dries thicker on one side than the other. Plus I am not sure how to hold the die during dipping and while it dries.

Any ideas?

TMP Bug: Somehow when I posted the first time I got an error, which created the message but did not index it, so it did not show on the front page. So I decided to try again.

Mine are d10s and I didn't use indented dice, but thanks.

Clear tape over the symbol. I've had very good luck with that.

I'm intrigued. I meant to order a handful of these a while ago, but was a bit put off by the not-recent dates on the site.

Has anyone ordered from the manufacturer/seller this year, or seen a reference to recent trading?

Thanks in advance.

On polynomial dice, I have written with Sharpie, but over time the dye leaked and the numbers became blurry. Not satisfactory. Now, I use stickers without any protective coating and replace them as they wear out. The dice often look sketchy, but I trust they roll fairly true.

I've painted flush sided d8s with acrylics and sealed them with gloss spray sealer. They wear a bit on the corners and edges, but the middle of the faces has stood up fine.

I use indented dice. The labels are printed onto single 1 page A4 labels and then covered with plastic covering used to cover school books. The labels are then cut out and and stuck onto the indented dice.

Hmmm. I did not think about laminating the sticker paper first. Thanks.

I have used a light coat of Krylon (spray) for Plastic … applied evenly to each side .. it should not effect the rolling
