And if so, is said monster an original design or a known design?

I am a fan of all giant monsters as a whole, table top gaming just makes this even better.

If it were only one and done, stick with one monster…then for me it would be

Gamera

If I had to choose only one, it would be Gamera.

Old school: Godzilla (1st) & Rodan (close 2nd)

Newer: Gorgahdra from Monsterpocalypse; I love it's giant claws.

Wackmole925 Mar 2013 8:18 a.m. PST

Gamera!!!!!!

Andrew Walters25 Mar 2013 8:48 a.m. PST

Godzilla is the man, or, er, you know.

I have an awesome 55mm Gamera though. I'd love to use it but it's the only thing I have that size.

Which leads me to my first post to this board…

John the OFM25 Mar 2013 8:51 a.m. PST

I thought Godzilla was female.

Gamera for certain!

Warmaster Horus25 Mar 2013 9:38 a.m. PST

I second StayPuft

Lions Den25 Mar 2013 9:58 a.m. PST

King Kong

Cthulhu. Made even better commanded by Eric Cartman.

In a Superhero RPG game I once shrunk the hero's down to he size of 28mm miniatures and then had them face a normal sized thug. To mimic the thug on the game table I took my shoes off and placed them on the table and told them "that's his feet, go to it". Yes, I stole the idea from a old pocket board game.

I like King Kong. You have alot of options.. climbing, smashing and throwing.. ahem.

Warwick1325 Mar 2013 10:48 a.m. PST

I love Gamera, I really do. But I have to go with Godzilla. He's the king.

Caesar25 Mar 2013 11:13 a.m. PST

Stay Puft is a good one!

Moonbeast25 Mar 2013 11:47 a.m. PST

King Ghidorah.

Space Monkey25 Mar 2013 12:58 p.m. PST

Yog, monster from space (though my figure for him is too small and too cute… I need to find a better one that wont break the bank).

skippy000125 Mar 2013 1:28 p.m. PST

Rhodan. For all the jet games I have.

Gokiburi25 Mar 2013 1:39 p.m. PST

I too love Gamera, he is filled with turtle-y power, and is friend to all children!

I would also like to echo Sharkbait's love of Gorghadra, I was so happy when I pulled him from my Monsterpocalypse starter (although I ended up having to buy the rest of my planet eaters as singles; stupid random packaging).

MechaGodzilla (because he's probably doomed, but he dies so cinematically), Ghidorah, Mothra.

The G Dog Fezian25 Mar 2013 5:33 p.m. PST

Gotta go with Godzilla.

doug redshirt25 Mar 2013 7:33 p.m. PST

Mothra because he comes with cute Japanese girls.

"…Mothura's a butterfly, fly fly away,

Rodan's a little birdie, he ain't got no nuclear ray,

No mechanized terror, or worm from outer space,

is going to knock my boy Godzilla from his King of Monsters place…."

Warmaster Horus26 Mar 2013 9:55 a.m. PST

What? No Godzooki?

Sergeant Paper26 Mar 2013 12:24 p.m. PST

And no GINO (Godzilla In Name Only, from the Broderick movie)…

28mmMan26 Mar 2013 8:26 p.m. PST

As much grief as I take for such…I have always liked Zilla and even Clover.

I am a fan of giant monsters…it would be a cold day in hell I suspect before I would dislike a well supported giant monster…even if the design is wonky or the movie is not the best…we are talking giant monster movies after all.

The fun of playing giant monsters on the table top is addictive and I constantly look at action figures, toys, etc. for potential of giant monster game play :)

28mmMan, get off this board and never come back again. ;)
I'm a Space Godzilla fan although its powerset is hard to simulate in a game.

28mmMan19 Apr 2013 8:52 a.m. PST

The extreme power curve, I could see that being an issue.

For me I tend to play the monsters as WYSIWYG anyway, with minor bumps for internal power and or related…just enjoy the Space Godzilla for the look of the figure!

:)

1. Gamera my fav by far.Enormous spinning fire ball belching turtle? Come on why not?
2. Cthulhu because I can, and it is one of the Few American Kaiju (I also have Staypuft)
3. Mecha Godzilla because it is devastating on the board.
