This cropped up on another board. Has anyone done any "what if" scenarios in the Med say between the Italians and the British or Turks? Looks like that might be interesting. That is, if anyone makes the models.

They were gorgeous, and pretty fast. Also very little armor.

They were from a period in which there wasn't much naval combat, in part because most of the ships could hardly fight and/or became obsolete in 2 hours.

IIRC, the Dulios could manage a shot every 5 minutes or so per gun, and the effective hit range was maybe 1000 yards.

There's still one 100-ton gun in existence at Fort Rinella, Malta. Worth a visit.

The 8" howitzer is fired – and you can pay to be one of the ones doing the firing.

I did, of course.
