Which French Regiment saw the most action at Fort William Henry?

I think the most active troops at the seige would have been the Compagnie Franche de la Marine troops and the allied Indians, who operated to secure the area. The battallions of regular French infantry were involved in conventional seige activities, advancing trenches etc, and I suspect they probably all contributed troops to these operations in shifts.
The busiest troops involved would have been Artillerymen and mining engineers!
I have looked in several sources and found no precise details of which regiment saw 'The most action'. Sorry!

I can tell you based upon the following publication:

"Uniform Painting Guide to the French Indian Wars 1754-1763"

Forces for the Siege of Fort William Henry 30th July – 9th August 1757

French:
Regt Royal de Roussillon (approx 500 men)
Regt de La Reine (approx 500)
Regt de La Sarre (approx 500)
Regt de Bearn (approx 500)
Regt de Languedoc (approx 500)
Regt de Guyenne (approx 500)
Compagnies Franches (approx 1000)
Canadian Militia (approx 2000)
Coureurs de Bois (approx 100)
Indians (1600)
Artillery 30 cannon and 15 mortars

British:
Regt 35th Foot (750)
Connecticut Provincial Regt (400) 1 Btn
Massachuetts Bay Provincial Regt (800) 2 Btns
Artillery 17 cannon 7 mortars
Civilians 100+

I hope this helps!

Forgot to add for the forces who amde an attack in March 1757 of Fort William Henry

French: (1600)
Compagnies Franches, Canadian Militia, and 2 Indian warbands

British: (400)
Possibly the 35th Foot I will need to confirm this though……but more than likely it was the 35th Foot….

The reason I'm asking is I'm making a diorama of the battle and I'll probably have only one French regiment represented plus of course indians and CFdlM.

I would go with La Sarre and Royal Roussillon but couldn't be absolutely sure. I thought I had a couple of my books that would help here but I don't they are at my friends house. See kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=1757_-_Siege_of_Fort_William_Henry for further info.

Hope this helps.

I don't think any French unit stood out from the others in this engagement so it really doesn't make a difference.Does anybody have any opinions of which French regular army battalion preformed the best during the course of the war in North America.
