I've just added another batch of Gendarmes to my Italian Wars collection. It was the second batch of two to create 6 new 8 figure units.

And a shot of them all together

And your love shows. I love painting Normans but never put that kind of detail into my work!…

(btw, your "closeups" don't link to bigger pics, in case you overlooked that)

Nice. None of this "uniform" nonsense! grin

ageofglory23 Mar 2013 9:29 a.m. PST

Wow. I wish I had that disorder. Awesome work.

You know we all hate you, yes?

I can see that you love painting them, so to help your passion I've decided you can paint mine and I won't even charge you.

Brilliant work and dedication – the candy striped lances, fully shaded, are amazingly consistent. Your site and collection are the inspiration for my 15mm collection. But, every time I look at your work, I regret not going with 28s…:-) And…you can never have too many gendarmes…

idontbelieveit23 Mar 2013 12:45 p.m. PST

Nice. Looks like gendarmes love being painted by you!

A match made in heaven then. Great models and superb painting.

Brillant figures and very fascinating period.

Fat Wally23 Mar 2013 3:38 p.m. PST

Fantastic work as usual on the figures but the ground colour and basing looks great too.

I am looking at these, looking at a similar collection of Gensdarmes in my cabinet – all unpainted – and weep…

As usual, thanks for sharing :-)

Well, they actually aren't up to your usual standard. therefore you can immediately ship them to me so they won't sit around reminding you of that!

thumbs up
Outstanding work.

Thanks,

Thanks all, for your kind remarks.

As it happens, although the game can be manned, I'm still looking for a couple of players who might want to push these around on the table-top at Sheffield Triples (mid May) this year. If you would like to volunteer a few hours, preferably a day, or both days then I'm open to offers for assistance.

My contact details can be found at my blog (in the side bar).

And, NO, NO, NO, I will not pay your expenses!!!!!

James.

This year may is already planned, but for next year I may just take you up on the offer not to pay expenses :-)
