The beginning of Lee's move to Gettysburg, Brandy Station is the largest cavalry battle on the North American continent. I'm hosting this game on 8 Jun 13 at The Game Connection in Knightdale, NC. I'd do it on Sunday but folks have things to do on Sunday. I'm documenting the progress as I assemble the troops and terrain here: link There's over 600 stands of command, cavalry, infantry and artillery involved. |

My group gamed it in 2010. It was a close-run thing, and it can have an extra cliff-hanging element if you allow for a chance of Lee being discovered hiding in a farm on the battlefield, which was a real possibility. It works best if the Union have a less than perfect view of the terrain, as on the day. The way we achieved this, and our result is described and pictured in one of the chapters in Wargaming in History Vol 3, Gettysburg, published by Ken Trotman in UK. It is available in the USA through OMM, or you can get someone who is going to Salute in UK on 20 Apr to pick it up for you! Best, John Drewienkiewicz |

Scott, Except for a detail here or there (especially the "mixed" artillery battery), Crossed Sabres is awesome. The idea of have Lee as a "surprise target" is absolutely appealing as a twist. Thanks for that one. |
