My favourite author as a youngster. Loved The Rats, The Spear and especially Fog. Not great literature but great, bloody, fun.

That said, definitely a favourite when I was a youngster too – arguably Britain's Stephen King…..

Read the Rats quite recently, thought it was good fun. My partner is a major fan and will be saddened by his death.
