Got my ship on Saturday, so I put it through a solo "test fight." I'm loving what they've done with this ship. Read more about it here: link |

Actually, Backstabber still should get the flanking benefit. If you read the Turret Primary Weapon rule on the Falcon's New Rules sheet, the turret is allowed to fire 'inside or outside its firing arc'. The front firing arc still applies to non-turreted secondary weapons, and flanking fire bonuses for folks like Stabbie. Likewise the rear arc on the Firespray is offiicially called an 'auxiliary firing arc' which is distinct from the primary 'firing arc'. Yes, the Falcon is fun! An Imperial swarm can take it down with concentrated fire over several rounds. |

Yeesh, is that a muddled concept. But in terms of keeping Backstabber worth his point cost, it makes sense. EDIT: Read the section you referred to: "When attacking with a turret primary weapon, a ship may target an enemy ship inside or outside its firing arc." That's fuzzy, if you ask me. But as I said, it makes sense to give the advantage back to Backstabber when facing a turret ship, if only because of the point cost problems. I added a comment to the blog to reflect this new understanding. |

I think that in early game development they just started calling it 'firing arc' not realising that 'front firing arc' would be a more useful clarification later. Now, new model expansions have to work around what's printed in the rule book. Had they been clever, they could have caught that one during early playtests when someone had to say 'firing outside of the firing arc' on the Ion Cannon Turret upgrade card. |

Nice AAR. Nice job showcasing the Falcon's strengths too. |

"Yes, the Falcon is fun! An Imperial swarm can take it down with concentrated fire over several rounds." I played last night and the YT-1300 piloted by Lando exploded on turn one. A combination of fire from seven tie fighters and Lando failing to dodge a single shot. |

"Lando!" "Oh, Han! Uh
hi, buddy." "Don't you 'hi buddy' me. What did you do to my ship?!?" . . . Yeah, that scene just sort of writes itself, doesn't it? |
