Hello,

I'm confused by the various uniforms worn by the French gunners. For example some wore red cuffs while others prefered dark blue. Some had dark blue under coat, while other wore white. Here are some pictures by Joineau and Funcken. link

My question is what was the color of the cuffs, lapels and turnbacks according to regulations ?

Cuffs – red or blue with red piping.
Lapels – blue with red piping.
Turnback – red.
Collar – blue with red piping.

Most other sources from my collection indicate Foot to have the red cuff and horse to have the blue with red piping.
