I've completed a second elephant for my Carthaginians. The model is from Relic Miniatures. This mighty beast will certainly create havoc among my enemies!
Lots more on the blog: The Inevitable Spark Thanks for looking. Comments and feedback always welcome. ~ Jonathan |

Very nice – the stomped shield and discarded Roman swords make a really touch! |

Jonathan Nice looking nellie, have finally finished my 2nd one. They needed a little work as you mentioned. After speaking to Mr Relic I carved out the middle/tops of the howdah sides to 'crenalate' them for my Ptolemaic army. Used one in a Hail Ceasar game in February, which a friend kindly photographed on his blog site (February 11 game). Not the best use of elephants – wasted as support troops, they need to crash though! link Cheers Garry |

Well, for a multi-part kit you managed to get it all together. Isn't liquid Greenstuff used as bubble fillers for porosity in castings made of resin? Mike |

Hi Mike – I wasn't complaining, it is a fantastic model that turned out great. With a multi-part kit I expect to do a little touch-up here and there. :) |

I know your not complaining but I can see how multipart kits can be frustrating. It can also be related to mudding drywall. People try to do too much in one shot, it's doing it in layers that makes for great results. Even sculptors especially with certain kinds of sculpting putties have to go in layers. More so with Green Stuff than Procreate because of hardening time and sag. GS is ok but it's a little too flexible. Milliput is too mushy and brittle. I like going with a combination mix of milliput and Green Stuff. That way you get some rigidity but still have enough flexibility to avoid cracking. Plus it files much better than straight GS. Procreate is the next best thing to that combo but you need to adhere it ASAP after mixing because it's sticky properties go away fast. -Mike |
