Pic(s) not displaying.

Went to the site though. There's some great items there. And the prices are fab! I love the junks in particular.

Good stuff.

Fantastic! I can see your junker and river boats with a nice smoke stack going up a river on Venus that cuts through the jungle like a main artery. Perhaps towing a few barges with infantry, or perhaps some wee beasty recently captured?

They look really great

Perfect for the channels and fens of Eastern Alcovia grin

Glad you like, I have recently had 10 new designs from the designer.

There will be a boat , hover craft , anti grav , and hover version of most of the designs.

Obviously with a few alterations .

There will be three new armoured swamp boats before the end of this month, which will go a long way to the water world theme that I am looking for with some of the boats.

And the first two hover craft and anti grav versions should be ready for casting this week end.

Cheers

Impressive.

Eli Arndt19 Mar 2013 7:23 a.m. PST

Mike,

Any chance you might do a larger patrol boat or monitor?

-Eli

Thesceneuk Sponsoring Member of TMP19 Mar 2013 7:45 a.m. PST

Hi Eli

Yes there is a very good chance.

It should take about six weeks to get the new designs made.

I have found a few pics of boats, and some much larger vessels I want to get made, but if there is anything specific you are looking for please feel free to post some pics.

Once the hulls have been made it is easy enough to make some new structures to go on top.

What I need to do is decide on two or three different hulls and get them made first.

Cheers

Cyberpirates anyone?

Eli Arndt19 Mar 2013 8:19 a.m. PST

Mike,

I am looking for modern style military patrol boats suitable for rivers and coasts as well as fishing type vessels suitable for up-gunned pirate vessels.

So far I've had to consider converting and kitbashing WW2 patrol boats.

Cyber pitares? Harold have you ever read "Bodyguard" by William C. Dietz? It has the Puget Sound covered by a space port with the water still under it and populated by pirates, scavengers and such.

Anyone ready for some Post Apocalyptic Pirates?

Can you imagine "CAPTAIN MAD MAX"?

Those are the sorts of boats I was consigned to having to go with and adding on Russian style weapons for Alcovia.

Some Ideas, if you are assuming these are Post-apoc from modern designs –

How about something like this:

It's ugly but damn it's fast for a riverboat:

I can definitely see the uses for some basic, large barge or flat bottom hulls.

Customers could purchase these to build up houseboats or to use as transport barges, floating gardens etc. You could even offer add-on sections for connecting a curves bow and/or stern.

The key word was 'imagine', this is the sci fi section.

Some good boat pics. Some intersting ideas there.

Eli Arndt19 Mar 2013 12:19 p.m. PST

HMmm…

Mike,

Are those drop-in hull pieces going to be available separately?

-Eli

Thesceneuk Sponsoring Member of TMP19 Mar 2013 12:37 p.m. PST

Thanks every one, great feedback, and yes some good ideas.

I will keep them all in mind.

Eli I am not sure yet if they will be available as separate items.

All the river boats at the moment are in two main pieces, a hull and separate tops.

There are two different hull sizes, and there is another size being made at the moment, along with two large empty barges.

But I am sure if some one wants either part separate I am sure I can sort that out.

I was going to sell them separate, but it makes so much more work at the trade shows.

I am trying to design a suitable hull for wheels , and tracks at the moment as I am sure some of the new designs will look great as small vehicles.

I have managed to get the boats painted today, so I will take some new pics in the morning.

Cheers

Mike

Eli Arndt19 Mar 2013 12:56 p.m. PST

Mike I can see avoiding doing separate bits for general sale.

My thought was that one of the hardest things about DYI watercraft is the superstructures. I've been able to get some hulls through other sources (LEGO, old toys, etc.) and could jump start the builds that way.

I am sure we can sort something out mate.

The biggest problem I have is the hulls.

I'm a big fan of your boats and have several painted up for AK47.

Time I got some more!

Lovely stuff.

Margard: "Fine, except sea levels aren't actually rising at all."

I know. Tell me about it. We need to crank up the heat!

I already bought "beachfront property" in Austin TX, so I need the water to rise 100m or so to get my money's worth. :)

Have you ever thought about vac forming them? If you can get access to a vacformer its quite a simple way to make all sorts of nice boat shapes or anything else similar (buildings/vehicle parts/scenics etc) for that matter.

Rottenlead20 Mar 2013 4:40 a.m. PST

Very nice! I hope to pick some of those up at Salute. Can I pre-order? :)

artbraune20 Mar 2013 9:00 a.m. PST

These are great! Fits in with my future 'Nam concept…

Thesceneuk Sponsoring Member of TMP20 Mar 2013 9:01 a.m. PST

Sorry mate I will not be going to Salute.

Just a quick update, I have finished painting the boats today, excuse the paint job as it is something I have never been to good at.
But it does at least show the detail better.

There are some extra pictures ont he website.

Dan this is something I have been looking at trying to do, but I do need to finish the projects that I have started.

Please let me know when you have started them with lots of pics.

Will do!!! Count on it.

Thanks,

Dan
PS. I also plan to work on something like this at some point soon:

That little project is in hand mate, inspired by the pictures you posted a little while ago.

I have two hulls being made at the moment, slightly different to the pictures , but they will do the same job.

The largest I believe is 185mm long x 95mm wide internal measuement.
They will be empty barges to carry my shipping containers.

But I am having them made in such a way that I can make something very similar to the pictures.
