Had a great day on Saturday at Deeside Defenders refighting Lutzen.

Here's Blucher's corps assaulting Gross Gorschen for the third time

Looks like a fun game.

Can you tell me who made your roads?
Thanks,
Tom

I checked the blog, Will, very impressive! Lots of room to maneuver and a slow build-up on each side…nice figs, too!
Good job!

Garryowen, the roads are home made with left over butyl rubber roofig material, brown mastic caulk spread over then sprinked with builders sand then painted with household emulsion paint.

Just 200 years ago …

Good looking report Will. Did you like the feel of Black Powder for a big Napoleonic game like that? … Did it have the depth that players were looking for? Roughly how many turns of play did you get into your 'day'?

Phil, Black Powder worked well and in 6 hours we played through 10 moves. The original plan had been to play over two days, but the other two players had commitments on Sunday. If I hadn't forgotten the Russian army we would have had an extra hour of play. With more players it would have played a lot quicker as there was an awful lot of stuff on the table to be moved. I'll be putting some thoughts on the game mechanisms and learning points for the next game on my blog in due course.
