I really like the look of them – I fear Strelets moulds though, often their masters look impressive but the final figures look nasty, their recent Roman sets a case in point |

I like them and it would be nice to see non-military sets for other eras. I'm hoping Caesar will do a new Egyptian court set . The old Atlantic set was cool, but is now getting hard to get and is most expensive. The latest Pharaoh's Chariot portraying the king out hunting is very nice. |

My goodness. Yes, not bad figures, useful civilians, but what is it about them that is supposed to make them Christians? Not much in the Gospel about beating with a stick! Or even pointing an accusatory finger! |
| rvandusen | 17 Mar 2013 11:01 a.m. PST |
Good point doc mcb, I think the man with the stick might be a persecuting Roman and maybe the man with a staff is a Roman official overseeing the scourging. It appears the young woman is being burned at the stake! Maybe they should rename the set "Christians and Romans" I wonder what the empty-handed men at the top are supposed to be doing? |

Perhaps doctrinal schism lies behind the stick-beating? |
| Pauls Bods | 17 Mar 2013 11:33 a.m. PST |
The one with the empty hand (far right top) looks like he´s trying to defend himself from either the one with the stick or the two throwing stones(top left and second row from top) |

Now I see. The guy on the left and the fellow below him have stones in their hands. Wow!, maybe in the future Strelets will have a part 2 set with Christians and animals in the arena. We already have 1/72 lions and tigers in Orion's fantasy gladiator set, but the more the merrier. |

Stones, huh? Yeah, I noticed that. Church tradition is that some of the Christians in the arena RAN to embrace the lions, so eager were they for martyrdom. But perhaps some put their faith in rocks. But there's rebel graffiti on the walls Inside the Colosseum. Down below in the catacombs The defiant ones are meeting. Hiding in the underground Blood brothers pass the cup around And they pay no heed to the roaring sound Of the lions of the Colosseum. |

My goodness. Yes, not bad figures, useful civilians, but what is it about them that is supposed to make them Christians? Not much in the Gospel about beating with a stick! Or even pointing an accusatory finger! My thoughts too Doc. However, they are some nice civilians and would also work as some nice fantasy characters. The guy with the staff and orb
a wizard? The guy with the palm to the chest
a Cleric? The man with his hand up in a sign of peace
another Cleric? Add a holy symbol on this one to get the point across. The first man, top row could have a dagger and a buckler and you would have a thief. The man with a stick is in a similar pose. You could add a shield for a low level warrior. Maybe from the militia of a small town. Lots of possibilities here. |

Yes, very useful figures; we need more civilians in most scales. |

Not much in the Gospel about beating with a stick! Or even pointing an accusatory finger!Oh, really ?

Well, the ones following Jesus aren't supposed to be doing it! (See. e.g., the woman taken in adultery.) |

Looks like there will be two sets (or one big one?) link |
