From one of my latest commissions. I had replace the spears with brass rods. The Spear heads are from the original white metal spears.

Hi I like the figures in the top photo and the others in the following two photos are interesting as well. Whose makes these? As I have a T'ang army and would love to expand the foot with some different figures and poses. Thanks for sharing, it is very rare we get pictures of T'ang on TMP.

The Spears are actually Perry Korean Heavy Infantry, and the Archers and Warriors are TAG Song Dynasty miniatures.

Marcus Maximus; post a few pictures of your army please. I've tried twice to paint a T'ang army with horrible results, they always end up looking way to European, I have all these books and still end up with trash!

The spearmen look good!

Those are well done.

Ok Oldbob will take pics tomorrow hopefully the sun or at least the snow ('tis expected here tomorrow) will allow it bright enough to take decent pictures.

To get these in a reasonable state for oldBob for today, I based them up quickly last night, but as you will see there are still lances, spears and the standards as well as the odd touch up and the bases to be done properly to finish them off, so as requested OldBob:

First up: "Enemy Dispersers" Yeluohe Light Cavalry

Next: "Whispering Shards" Yeluohe Light Cavalry

First of the heavily armoured cavalry front rankers rinding armoured barded horses with rear ranks on unarmoured horses: Martial Wei Elite Guard Cavalry – "The Red Dragons"

Next armoured unit: Majestic Guard Wei Elite Guard Cavalry – "The Jade Dragons"

Next a junior Guard cavalry unit: Crown Prince Yajun Guard Cavalry – "Kingfisher Storm"

The Imperial Guard Cavalry unit to keep watch on any possible imperial pretensions: Sharp Swords Wei Imperial Guard Cavalry – "Ice Blades"

Line cavalry unit: "Forest and Feathers" Yajun Cavalry

Line cavalry unit: "Blue Lepoards" Fan gren Cavalry

Next the foot:
Fubing Foot – "Red Shields"

Fubing Foot – "White Shields"

Fubing Foot – "Blue Shields"

Fubing Foot – "Black Shields"

Known as the "Army Leaders" Wei Imperial Guard Foot – I gave them a further title – "The Emperor's Lions" These need to be finished off, shields are a give away on this unit as to how far they are from being complete, but still oldBob asked and he shall get…

Lastly, the generals are virtually there standards to be completed with appropriate colours and wording / symbols

Marcus; thank you, I'm in your debt! I can see some of my mistakes already, I've kept my units to dull, I need to add color. Browns and dark blues, need to add some reds and definitely yellows.

Marcus Maximus18 Mar 2013 1:05 p.m. PST

Thank you oldbob and no problem.

I was a cautious on what colours should have been used, but then saw pics in Montvert and Osprey suggesting a contrast could be achieved. I'm not enitrely happy with the browns but they will do for now. I have so much more too paint, it's ridiculous and currently my spine doesn't allow me much time to do tracking back, so….

For info. the flags Bob will probably have the foreground painted in white then another colour still looking through images for inspiration from the Tang era.
