"X-Wing FAQ is down, and I got a question" Topic

Carefully reading through the Millennium Falcon cards and the Slave I cards, I thought I spotted a problem. Now I think I've found the answer. Neither can be confirmed, with FFG not correctly linking to their FAQ.

Some of the upgrade cards, like "Shield Upgrade" or "Engine Upgrade", sport a symbol of two crossed wrenches on the back. But no ship seems to have this icon on their Upgrade Bar. So when Han Solo brags "I've added a couple special modifications myself", he might just be lying like he's been timing parsecs.

But … the face of the crossed-wrench upgrade cards does *not* show any upgrade icon at all. Which might mean you don't need to have any specific upgrade ability to buy these cards. The Millennium Falcon should have an engine upgrade, after all.

Does anyone have a more official sort of answer?

This is what I got off the little booklet that came with the new ships. "Modifications and titles are special upgrades that do not appear in any ships upgrade bar. Any ship may equip a modification or title unless the card is restricted to a specific type of ship. Each ship is limited to one modification, and one title." First paragraph page two. Looks like they decided to add these, but obviously could not change cards already put out.
