Will be in Madrid (Spain I may add) next weekend, anything to find there for a wargamer?

If you want wargaming shops, you should go to Atlantica Juegos, in plaza Maria Soledad Torres Acosta, near Gran Via. Also, if Fantasy/Scifi is your thing, you can check Quimera, in calle Jorge Juan (I can't remember the number, though, but they have a website with the complete address). Also you can stop by my shop, Toys'n'Soldiers, in calle Londres 20, near plaza de Manuel Becerra… although I have not many wargaming stuff (action figures and boardgames is my thing) I would be happy to say hi to a fellow TMPr.

If you have time available get the AVE (fast train) to Toledo and visit the Alcázar, where the Army Museum is located. It's about half hour from Atocha station and it worths the visit.

The Naval Museum is in Madrid and covers the Spanish in the Americas, Renaissance warfare, colonial campaigns and the Spanish American War as well as the Civil War.

Yeah! I forgot the Naval Museum! It's very centric, near plaza Cibeles.

Another vote for the Naval Museum.

There is also the Prada which has some pretty cool art. I picked up a print of El fusilamiento de Torrijos y sus compañeros en la playa de Málaga by Gisbert.

It also has The Surrender of Breda, Third of May 1808 and the Second of May 1808, and when I was there had a fantastic collection of Russian which included many Scythian pieces the sculpting on which matches anything being done on miniatures today and the figures were in about 28mm.

There is also a GW store there that I didn't manage to make it to.

Don't forget the fantastic art in those marvellous galleries. Pictors Studio has mentioned to the Goya's at the Prado but there's also Picasso's Guernica to see, especially if you've any interest in the SCW, or any interest in art at all.

There use to be a place at Penascales #5 near Goya but I think they moved it. Don't know the new address but it may still be around. Young man and his dad ran the store. You can ask in Libreria Atlantica because they will surely know.
