This is the third of the LOTR SBG AARs from last weekend's Spring Fever. This was the most ambitious of the games with the Last March of the Ents to the walls of Isengard.

Here is the link to the AAR: link

The pictures don't do this one justice. Outstanding craft.

I just went back and read the AAR, as opposed to just looking at the eye candy.

Hilarious battle report. I love when players do whacky stuff. When fighting historical battles we as commanders have so much more data that we seldom make the stupid mistakes that the real commanders did given the info they had.

So when a few players go off on a tangent, It's hilarious.

A friend of mine, years ago, ran an AWI game at Historicon. I forget which battle. But one of the American Players had an elite division of the American army on against a weak british Flank. The player just inched up and exchanged long range fire. Needless to say, British Victory!

Where did you get all the ents?

Xin,

Thanks a bunch. Not as much Whacky as unplanned. I think next time I run this game, I will open a hole at the wall with one Ent in the breach, put some Ents closer, and bring the others one as reinforcements per the LOTR Ent awakening rules. I had fully expected the Ents to be fighting between the pits and the walls.

So the Ents came mostly from me and another friend with a pile of the woody fellows. I also invited each of my friends that planned to participate to bring a personal Ent that they could caddy!

My greater ents are mix of 3 GW LOTR ents, 3 Majestic Bear Tree Giants, and 3 Reaper Mossbeards variously retwigged.

My lesser ents include 4 Mithril LOLTR Ents, 2 Mageknight Wood Golems, 2 Ral Partha Demonic Tree Men, 1 Dungeon Dwellers Treeman, and 1 Mageknight Living Elemental. I used Cave Troll Stats for these.

My friend had some of these plus some of the D&D Treant.

At one point it looked like Birnam Woods moving….

Really nice layout, Lostpic! I particularly like Saruman's tower and the stone fortress.
