The talented Forgworld painters have produced several painting guides for the four Legions featured in The Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal, based upon the miniatures painted for the Isstvan III display board featured at Games Day UK.

That is an awesome link Coabeous!

Im just using good old MKV armor and basing my unit organization on the FW Heresy book.

Im not too picky about my armor not being MkIII or IV. If I had the money Id do em' but gotta work with what I can afford.

One I get a few more units painted up Ill post some pics.

U.K.

Its really a mixed bag, I've seen the Son's of Horus section catch a lot of flak and deservedly so: the main colour is overly complicated, requires far more pots of paint than necessary and although the result is nice its not really anywhere near the right colour (it'd make a nice variant for Salamanders tho).

3rd, have just seen your post and I agree, they are overly complicated and need to many pots of paint.

I seldom follow the guides step by step anymore and just use them as a guide.
