I am halfway through it and it is excellent so far. Very detailed accounts of both sides as well as the Russian viewpoint.

Very good, well researched etc, but occasionally a bit weak on aspects that the author is ignorant of. I'll try and think of some examples, apart from the "Lancers in red cloaks" quoted in the blurb.
