Since Bolt Action dropped its Volksturm figures from their range is there another manufacturer to provide some? Or is there any merchant with an old BA stock around to hear my claim? Recently involved in an RoE "Festung Breslau" project, I desperatly need some. Matching in size with my Black Tree Germans and Russians and Bolt Action SS would be a plus! Cheers. |

West Wind makes a single Volksturm pack for their Berlin or Bust line. Old Glory lists them for sale. |

I have successfully used Victory Force Rsisance as Volkssturm. Just did the armband and they were done. Did not work with all minis since some looked too Fench in their clothing, but since they are aailable as single minis as well, it did not matter to me! |

Old Glory Boers with mauser rifles, maybe with a steel helmet headswop? I made armbands for my Volkssturm from the metal used in Champagne corks :) |

Any of the Mutton Chop figures got German rifles? |

CooperSteve, Why would they have to be German rifles? Given that we're talking Volkssturm it could be almost anything, right? BWW |

The Volkssturm would hardly have Lee Enfields would they? Take a look at Musketeer Miniatures. hey have some suitable IRA figures |

Actually, it's possible that they could have Lee-Enfields. They were equipped with every type of captured weapon that the Germans had picked up over the course of the war. From what I have read, it was not uncommon to have a mixture of weapon types within a company, although they did try to avoid it. BWW |

Brian, Sounds good, then it is no problem to find suitable figures :) |

The Volkssturm did have Lewis guns, albeit rechambered for German ammo (mainly captured in WW1). They also used captured rifles. |

Don't forget, a lot of Volksturm were issued uniforms, and especially at a distance, many times would be indistinguishable from a typical German soldier. Granted, there were many instances of old men in civilian clothes etc, but a friend of the family fought from the Bulge to the end of the war, and spoke often of very old and very young Germans in uniform too, as part of the Volksturm. I guess, what I am saying, is don't be afraid to use a typical Heer soldier in a great coat or something like that. They could pass as VS, especially if you painted an appropriate armband or something. And Panzerfausts. They had a metric *#&@-ton of Panzerfausts. |

Possibly some Spanish Civil War? Artizan do partisans (Hmmm Artizan Partizan!). This pack looks like the best for armed civilian types. link I'm getting increasingly put off of investing in Warlord Games as they seem to drop ranges. I would have bought their Finns but they went. So looking at TAG for the Pacific now rather than Warlord. |
