I'm a user not related in any form to the author, I'm just hitting brick wall over using it to its potential. I'll add that I've figured out part of this wargame battle's progress recorder procedures. I've sorted out how to import one's own .png or .jpg images as either terrain, counters or symbols to be used in setting up terrain or details for the playing pieces in games, and have used the techniques to set up games. What this means is that these can be shared across the internet between computers. Doing the same sort of thing with orders of battle is proving more awkward, and Battle Chronicler's Google group is sleepy, so I'll add here when I've figured out what i did to duplicate an army list, and tested on a separate computer that i can transfer army lists between. Written in XML the author has obviously got programming limitations with respect to the flexiblity of file-sharing. Naturally, there are disclaimers here and there about copyright, etc, each item seems to have the option of having a couple of legal tags. The software is quite good once one has got to grips with customising it. I've not tried it, but apparently Battle Chronicler (shareware) ties in with Army Builder, a subscription-based order of battle manager. Seems there's been no update to Battle Chronicler since 2011, but it is still on the interent in two packages free to install. Just watch for cheeky adverts on the homepage suggesting the download link is on that page not in downloads. Good luck if anyone wants to take a look, I wish them happy times.

I found the program very difficult to use and very counter-intuitive. An easy to follow guide on how to use would be a big help. I've done one battle report using it, but it took me forever.( URL= westsoundwarriors.blogspot.com/)
anything you could post here to make it simpler, would be appreciated.

I gave up on it. Too much work for too little return.
