If you get a Battlegames renewal letter from Warners through the post, it is *not* an error.

This is to give you the opportunity to qualify for the 'doubled up' re-subscription that has been mentioned in the last couple of weeks. By re-subbing now, you will qualify for getting twice as many issues of the new Miniature Wargames for the same price as the exisiting BG subscription – which, as explained in the magazine, will also be tagged onto the end of any current MW sub you have.

If you have any queries, please do NOT email me personally, as I haven't even seen the letter sent out and can't do anything about it because it's all controlled by Warners – contact subscriptions@warnersgroup.co.uk

Thank you.

That's great news, Henry! I had wondered if it was an 'admin error'. Resub will be posted tomorrow!

UPDATE

It has come to my attention that the letter (which has been sent out by Warners and NOT myself or Trevor Ridley) is extremely badly worded and gives a confusing impression of the deal on offer.

Let me repeat that the deal is guaranteed to be as advertised – you'll get TWO issues of MW for every ONE remaining on your BG subscription (or renewed subscription).

We are currently 'having a friendly chat' with Warners and it may be that we ask them to send out another letter which clarifies the position. Our apologies for any confusion caused by the letter you may have received.

Bound to be a few 'hiccups' I guess. I'm sure that Warners will want to do everything they can to secure readership and subscriptions for the new magazine beyond the initial honeymoon/curiousity period, if only to reassure the advertisers.

Thanks for that Henry, I was wondering whether to just ignore the letter as an admin error. But now I won't.

Henry,

When were these sent out as I am working overseas and obviously have not picked this letter up.

Thanks

Bunny, this has all happened over the last couple of days.

Saw the sub letter is working on a cover price of £6.90 GBP, compared to current battlegames £4.95 GBP (i.e. six issue sub' is £34.50 GBP). Is this a…errr..hint…at a cover price rise coming up at "new" Battlegames ?

Sub' renewal still sent BTW Henry – as £2.87 GBP per issue is still a good enough deal !!!

@20thMaine

Err, dunno about that, as I haven't seen the specific letter sent to you, but perhaps that's including postage? The cover price of the new MWBG (there's some alphabet soup for Otto) is £4.25 GBP, same as the current MW.
