Hi,

Does anyone have a source for topo maps of Italy? I know this is rather large but I want to see whats there first and then I can narrow down to what I want.

Thanks

Put this into Google – "topographic map italy." Choose image results. You will be overwhelmed with choices.

If you want historical maps (ie. WWII topos) try the map room at your local major university and if that fails you, check out the Library of Congress. I've gotten a number of historical topos from them.

You can use the topographical maps of the Italian Army, Istituto Geografico Militare igmi.org/istituto

And here the igmi.org/download.php for some downloads grin

Essentially I am planning my next set of terrain boards and I wanted to base them on a more realistic piece of terra. Since most of my gaming revolves around Italy, this seemed like a logical choice.
My goal is to design the boards well enough that my 15mm figures will have substantial hills to climb, gullies to hide in etc and my 10mm figures will be that much more hidden. I don't like flat terrain and I like realistic looking terrain.

Thank for the links.
