Title says it all. I prefer Vallejo colors. I don't know if they have a suitable grey green, which I guess is the correct overall color.

Olive Grey 888?

That's what the Flames Of War boys use. Looks good to me, but definitely a colour to highlight up from – if you're a "black wash" painter, it'd probably want lightening up a bit.

Officer uniforms were a paler grey colour; in some photos it seems really light.

Khaki of Officer Saharina jackets IIRC – again from BF files
I would definately do a ligher highlight on the olive grey

according the pictures of by great-uncle in Africa… officer uniform was the same color but, as TT said, sometime he was wearing a Sahariana jacket of very light grey sometime almost cream (ok it is from black and white pictures). The Sahariana jacket was not very widespread in Europe.

The FoW folks use Olive Grey 888, as TT and Dom suggested, then highlight it with a mix of Olive Grey and Stone Grey 884. I think they also suggested Green Grey 886 as a highlight.

I used green / grey as a highlight worked quite well IMHO

I used a Folk Arts Acrylic colour called Poppy Seed for teh grigio verdi bits; Most reference books show the uniforms too light and a bit blue; probably to show detail better. Officer's uniforms are lighter and a bit more grey.

I compromised and put mine in grigio verdi trousers and helmet with khaki jackets.
