My local wargames club put on a big game at the Albinach Show (Dumfries, Scotland) On March 9th.

I wrote up an After action Report to show what happened in the game, accompanied by some photos, and at the beginning gives some background to the game and an order of battle.

You can see the report here: link

Hope you enjoy it! (Be warned though, it's pretty long!)

thanks

Chris.

Many thanks for all the effort intyo getting that AAR done – very enjoyable read.

I am not familiar with the rules – Do you roll the dice and then allocate the result to the most approprioate unit? and that being the case, what does Ambush signify, is it a sort of overwatch for opportunity fire?

Glad you enjoyed the post!

The way the order dice works is:

You place one order dice for each unit into the bag (in this example, grey dice are for german units, brown for soviet)

These are mixed up and someone then pulls one out at random.

The owning player then takes the dice and chooses an action (i.e. run, fire, rally etc) and applies it to whichever unit they would like to give it to as long as they haven't already had an action yet that turn.

If you wish to give a unit an ambush dice, they simply go onto overwatch.

Nice report Chris,

It's good to see the early part of the Barbarossa Campaign being given an airing. I particularly liked the NKVD and the explosions.

Kind regards, Chris K.
