Played a game against my daughter of the new Wooden Wars rules using medieval figures.

I saw the game at Cold Wars – looks an absolute hoot!

Do richochets count? :)

Black Cavalier10 Mar 2013 10:20 p.m. PST

Glengarry5,

If the ball ricochets of other figures, it does count. But once a ball hits something outside of the battlefield, the ball it out of play.

Just to your daughter's right there, is that the pit of doom to which fallen warriors go? wink

It's the pit of doom where quarters, hairties & lego pieces disappear.

Did make sure to measure beforehand all the figures, rubber balls & dice to determine what disappear down there.

A very cool gmae!

My relatives in Pennsylvania had one of those damn furnace floor grates. Man, I hated that thing. What a toy-eater!

Where'd you get the knights? They look like 54mm Britains, but I haven't seen those in decades. I haven't really been looking, either, mind…

Black Cavalier11 Mar 2013 7:27 p.m. PST

Yes, they are the 54mm Britains.

I got them as part of a big math trade that a friend organized at Board Games Geek.

That looks like fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CorporalTrim13 Mar 2013 9:04 p.m. PST

Yes, 54mm Britains – but mostly the plastic Deetail series. Between the 1970's originals with the metal bases, the newer "made in China" ones and outright clones, on any given day you can generally bring up 2-3 pages worth on eBay.

Looks like great fun!
