Will the crew of the Hunley receive the same? I wonder.

The crew of the Hunley were laid to rest on April 17, 2004.

The crew of the CSS Hunley were not members of the US Armed forces. They were honored but not eligible for interment in Arlington.

The Monitor was raised several years back. Where have the bodies been since then?

KeithRK12 Mar 2013 12:56 p.m. PST

The remains were sent to the Joint Prisoners of War, Missing in Action Accounting Command (JPAC)in Oahu, Hawaii to try to identify them.

Rev Zoom02 Apr 2013 3:33 p.m. PST

The remains of the Hunley crew are buried in Charleston, SC. It is very well done and worth visiting.
