I notice many company owners or representatives that respond to topics here. Is it part of your job duties to go to sites like TMP and provide useful product-related information?

Rrobbyrobot08 Mar 2013 11:29 a.m. PST

While I'm not paid to read TMP. I have found it to be profitable.

I wouldn't mind being paid. If anyone wants to pay me to read TMP, there is an opening. Please email me with salary and benefits package…

Damon.

Ask yourself for a raise.

Caesar08 Mar 2013 12:44 p.m. PST

Well, here we have Diane from Warbases posting a comment.

It seems to me that perhaps it's part of Diane's job to be helpful like this on places like TMP.

I… I… grow up!

It's a PR thing. I've picked up a lot of business through TMP. My philosophy is that you have to be where the gamers are to know what the gamers want/need. I get feedback on projects and show off crazy ideas all the time. I also enjoy reading about the other companies and what's happening over on the industry forum. I almost wish there was a company only one. Sometimes I have questions or thoughts that I'd like to discuss with other company owners/employees but not have them be public.

So I'm sure some people have it as part of their overall job description to post on forums and manage social media. Not sure they get paid to troll around TMP hunting up work.

TMP tends to be what I call the "older" crowd. This is not always the case but the maturity level here is a bit higher then other forums. I can engage in active conversation that is profitable instead of just responding to whiners and trolls.

CraigH08 Mar 2013 12:56 p.m. PST

Does my employer know they are paying me to read TMP…well that's a different question now, isn't it.

basileus6608 Mar 2013 4:23 p.m. PST

I can ask… Bill, am I entitled to any income for reading your website? Can I have a dental plan? Please?

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER08 Mar 2013 5:02 p.m. PST

of just responding to whiners and trolls.

I should be looking for work right now. But seeing that the past 9 years I didn't get to post much (1100 and counting) I need to catch up.

Ratbone08 Mar 2013 11:04 p.m. PST

Another example of government pork. We need to cut the discretionary budget to the TMP Reading Agency

Green Tiger09 Mar 2013 3:31 a.m. PST

Well I generally read it at work so I guess so.

GarrisonMiniatures09 Mar 2013 4:09 a.m. PST

I know some people have ordered as a result of posts, so I suppose so.

On the other hand,I may have put some of my 34 stiflers off ordering……

Not paid to read TMP but often pay someone after discovering the shinyness on here.

Martin Rapier09 Mar 2013 1:25 p.m. PST

No. I pay to be a member and spend my precious time reading and contributing to it.

I don't have a smart phone as John asks, but lots of my co-workers are paid to do something on the internet. And to remind everyone I'm a carpenter, working on construction sites.

Whatisitgood4atwork09 Mar 2013 8:57 p.m. PST

Actually yes, but please don't tell my bosses.

JimSelzer10 Mar 2013 12:53 p.m. PST

I am as I normally read tmp at work

Grand Duke Natokina10 Mar 2013 1:32 p.m. PST

Unfortunately, no.

Gazzola21 Mar 2013 3:11 a.m. PST

I get paid to dare to disagree with people so that they will run to the stifle, because it is just not getting used enough!

Gazzola21 Mar 2013 3:12 a.m. PST

Er, incase people freak out-the last post was a fib!

Death to the stifle!
