I notice many company owners or representatives that respond to topics here. Is it part of your job duties to go to sites like TMP and provide useful product-related information? |

While I'm not paid to read TMP. I have found it to be profitable. |

It's a PR thing. I've picked up a lot of business through TMP. My philosophy is that you have to be where the gamers are to know what the gamers want/need. I get feedback on projects and show off crazy ideas all the time. I also enjoy reading about the other companies and what's happening over on the industry forum. I almost wish there was a company only one. Sometimes I have questions or thoughts that I'd like to discuss with other company owners/employees but not have them be public. So I'm sure some people have it as part of their overall job description to post on forums and manage social media. Not sure they get paid to troll around TMP hunting up work. TMP tends to be what I call the "older" crowd. This is not always the case but the maturity level here is a bit higher then other forums. I can engage in active conversation that is profitable instead of just responding to whiners and trolls. |
