As a potential 3D printer owner…

… which material is better for wargaming purposes ??

(buildings, walls, terrain bits, accessories, etc.. I don't see myself making feature, but perhaps vehicles parts)

What is PLC? I have heard of ABS. I'm guessing that would be better as hard like plastic kits, but not sure about the paintability??
What type of printer are you looking to get?
[edit] think i answered my own questions. link widely used in RepRap printers.

Ultimaker seems to have great resoltuion, but it lacks a heated bed – which makes working with ABS harder.

Yes, good question! If PLC can't be painted it ain't much good to me…

Doh. I meant PLA (not PCL)…

See, I'm learning more about DDD printers all the time ! :p

PLA can be sanded and painted with acrylics.

However, while researching that tid bit… someone's veteran advice was to make sure you buy a 3D printer with a heated bed (for ABS) – which the Ultimaker doesn't have.. so now maybe I'm back to square one on printer choice…

Maker magainze has a great issue on 3D printers this month, btw.
