As a potential 3D printer owner
which material is better for wargaming purposes ?? (buildings, walls, terrain bits, accessories, etc.. I don't see myself making feature, but perhaps vehicles parts) |

What is PLC? I have heard of ABS. I'm guessing that would be better as hard like plastic kits, but not sure about the paintability?? What type of printer are you looking to get? [edit] think i answered my own questions. link widely used in RepRap printers. |

Ultimaker seems to have great resoltuion, but it lacks a heated bed – which makes working with ABS harder. Yes, good question! If PLC can't be painted it ain't much good to me

PLA can be sanded and painted with acrylics. However, while researching that tid bit
someone's veteran advice was to make sure you buy a 3D printer with a heated bed (for ABS) – which the Ultimaker doesn't have.. so now maybe I'm back to square one on printer choice
Maker magainze has a great issue on 3D printers this month, btw. |
