I am tempted by the humorous vignette recently produced by Perry Ministures: link However, I have no real knowledge of that period of history and would welcome suggestions for a suitable paint scheme. Alternatively, as my meagre painting skills are unlikely to do the model justice, I was wondering about trying something to give it the appearance of a bronze. After all, it will simply be for display. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Alan |

Municipal car parks are commonly tarmacadamed, but this is likely to be somewhat aged, so a medium-dark grey rather than the near-black of fresh tarmac. Parking bays can be outlined in white or yellow; I believe the car park in question uses white lines, seriously chipped and weathered by use. The disabled logo can similarly be marked in white or yellow (or even white on a blue circular background for a splash of colour) although I suspect a plain if weathered white is the most historically accurate option. I hope this is some help. Dom. |

Ah, those Perry scamps! I think it would be good as a bronze but I sure would be tempted to paint it – for the car park, Dom has great ideas; for the King, steel armour with some bright trim on the horse furniture would work |

Wonder if anyone will get this for using on the battlefield? |

Sorry, I couldn't resist. And yeah, I'm seriously considering getting one for my Perry Yorkists – it'll have to get used in battle at least once for a laugh. :-) |

Perhaps bursting out of the ground just behind the Lancastrian high command when they are conferring in a town? Seriously, anyone any suggestions for a good paint scheme to make it look like a bronze? Do I just paint it bronze and perhaps do a black wash? |

I suspect a *green* wash will be much better than a black one – take a look at old bronze statues, they always acquire a green patina. |

Hi Dom Happy to see the banana up and active |

I suspect a *green* wash will be much better than a black one – take a look at old bronze statues, they always acquire a green patina. It depends on how long the statue has been in the elements, and whether it is well taken care of. For this one, I undercoated with a Teal blue-green, heavily drybrushed with bronze, then washed with a light blue-green-grey:

Roderick Is that a monument to the two princess in the tower
.!! |

Little early for the two princes
No, just a use for a Foundry piece that wasn't useful (to me) at the time
I just used it here for example. |

What two princes in the tower? I don't know anything about my dear sweet nephews! |

It would be great if the Perrys could spell 'Leicester' |

Maybe they think it particularly untrustworthy? |
Oberst Radl | 09 Mar 2013 6:26 p.m. PST |
It would make a nice diorama, with the figure between two cars and a shocked lady with a grocery cart in front. |

Damn! I knew I shouldnt have opened this thread. Now you've cost me £11.20 GBP Alan Lockhart. I Hope you are satisfied!!!!!! |

As long they as the continue to sculpt as they do then they can spell it how they like, as far as I'm concerned ;-) |

Grocery cart? Yes if it's a social worker doing their shopping before driving away from work? |
Oberst Radl | 14 Mar 2013 3:36 p.m. PST |
I thought it was a grocery-store parking lot. Was it social workers' offices? If so, you could have a couple of delinquent kids looking shocked, and the caption could be, "Crikey, They're Serious This Time!" |

Got my 2 Tricky Dickies today. Lovely sculpts, nice resin car park bay. They look a work of art in the box, almost a shame to unbox them and paint them up
I need to get a wooden base for them (any suggestions?) Researching the original, at Bosworth Richard used one of his white (grey?) coursers. (Actually he also had a battle axe on the day
..) Mind you he had a whole fleet of horses
. so I guess any colour could be selected for his 'return'. |
