Excellent effort. Sorry, but I've only just come to this -how many figures will each battalion have in the end? |

Well in fact 'The Cardinal' is right – sort of. I've been allowing my mind to swill about on that subject and there's no standard single table lay-out which will do. I'm thinking the central field will be one table (or continuous board) bounded by the French entry point on the slight rise, the extent of the heights to the cliff line, to rear forest edge and the inland forest edge. The forest edges (bush really I suppose) will be a seperate L-shaped addition. Just how far that L-shaped edition captures any of the central field is a problem for the future. Supercilious, the exact numbers are broken down in my Blog – should come up as a pdf if you floow the Quebec labels. This particular regiment was the single largest one on the field that day by a long number. It will be 70 figures when the other half is completed (includes grenadiers and colour party). It was dispersed in the majority two rank line formation for the day and made up the entire reserve line. I deliberately attacked this project by painting the biggest regiments first. When this is done, half my figure total will be achieved. I will be relieved that it's sort of down hill from here. I do enjoy painting them though. |

Dream away Matthew. AND get back to that desk and paint some knights. |

UG – Sounds like an excellent project; I focus more on the AWI than F&IW, but I do like seeing well-done projects in the latter conflict (and War of 1812 – something about the artillery-lite, cavalry-free nature of H&M era combat in North America that grabs me, I think. Speaking of War of 1812, why not add Isaac Brock to your "Unlucky General" persona? |
