Is that why the Evil Overlord has to explain everything to Flash/James/Han??? |

As usual, your observations make me smile. |

I dunno "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never harm me " implies that even after the overlord reveals his scheme there is still no harm done. |

No, it is so he can go "Mhaawhaaahaaahaaa!" |

It's a confirmation effect. The criminal masterminds who are stupid enough to explain their evil schemes are the ones who get thwarted, like only stupid criminals get caught. Your really smart evil overlords just snuff the hero and get on with business and thus are never identified as evil overlords at all. They are running things. |

John, it's those union rules again! You know, Section 2, Part 1: "All union members ranked as "Evil Overlords," "Diabolical Fiends," or "Evil Geniuses" will be granted a minimum of two full, uninterrupted minutes of monologue to gloat over any and all individuals taken into custody by authorized union personnel ranked at or below Senior Minion or Senior Henchman status." It's right there in the same section covering break times, sick leave, and paid vacation time, just in case you're wondering. Leland R. I've often wondered why the EG's (Evil Guys) don't just act rather than ranting and giving the GG's (Good Guys) the chance to escape or whatever. Makes a better movie/TV show, I guess. |

Explaining the plot allows two things – the thickets in the audience can catch up, and the good guy in the film can make his escape with the knowledge of what he needs to do to win. |

"It's right there in the same section covering break times, sick leave, and paid vacation time, just in case you're wondering." Is that right before or after the section on self-cloning maternity leave? |
