looks like a mix between a Leman Russ tank and a Bad Guy (Akuyaku) tank. I have some photos on my blog, have a look, link |

The Grizzly that was released with the original Warzone was at least twice the size of the one above. Apart from that it is a worthy reproduction of the original. Very similar to the Bad Guy tank too

I like the two Jerry Cans strapped to it's front. I wonder if those contain spare fuel? Must make one helluva difference for this gas-guzzling monstrosity :D |

I have one of the old bigger ones, so I guess that makes it a Super Grizzly now? |

On second thought, how about a 1:56 SJGames Ogre? |

I remember the original Grizzly and that thing was huge. While the original and this current model have a cool factor to them there really are some serious design flaws. First off the very menacing track design of the treads would soon have this behemoth bogged down if it attempted to cross land that was even a bit damp. Those clawed treads would quickly dig a tandem set of deep furrows and the bottom of the tank's body would be resting on the ground a sitting duck. Now let's take a look at that turret and those two monster guns. Where does the commander sit? Where is the loader or the gunner sitting? How does it load the darn things? From the array of guns on the front and sides unless the weapons are automated just how many crew in total are stuffed in there? (I now have an image of crew of clowns.) And last, what the heck is that tower protruding out of the back? I mean talk about a high profile. Just say'n |

I like the two fuel cans on the front just under the centre view port ;) The turret doesn't seem to of been designed by someone else or an after thought.Just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the tank? |

It's a neat looking tank, but based on some pics I've seen elsewhere, it looks like it's about 2 inches too narrow and 4 inches under-length. Maybe someday I'll pick one up, but I've got the Akuyaku kit still waiting to be built. For those who remember the original kit, it's pretty clear that it was a direct take off of the Akuyaku # 1. They basically straitened the sides, squared a few corners, combined a couple of the sponsons and called it a new tank. Not that it offends me or anything, but it's roots are pretty clear. Whitemanticore, Of all the universes to try and apply logic too, you chose Warzone/Mutant Chronicles? ;-) Just Say'n

jackcanjels: Awesome! Even comes with piggy crew. That is very tempting. Thanks for the link. |

Well ordinarybass I do realize that it is an exercise in madness. But come on it is fun to try. Just say'n
Oh just so I am clear when I first saw the original Grizzly way back when I wanted one, silly or not. |

Didn't the original supposedly have a crew of ten, including a cook? While Akuyaku 1-go had twenty(?), still damn impressive. whitemanticore: Shared guilty pleasure, that wanting. ;->= Doug |

Warzone, my favorite all time Wargame/RPG. It's Great that sombody seems to know how to pruduce the range to a more Warzone MC standard as opposed to that pre-painted stuff. Shame the sizes seem a little more 'realistic' I liked having the DL heavies bigger 'n nastier than the Humans and having a Pretorian Behemoth stamp over Capitol. Grizzly vs Rams Air Cav. Drop a squad of them Maniacs on that and watch everything blow up. But where are the Imperials? No sign or mention of them on the KS as far as I can tell. |

Didn't the original supposedly have a crew of ten, including a cook? While Akuyaku 1-go had twenty(?), still damn impressive.whitemanticore: Shared guilty pleasure, that wanting. ;->= Doug The Grizzly, according to the RPG stats was a monster with 25 or so crew. This current version, while not the same size as the RPG stats or the Forge World model, it is actually the same size as the Grizzly shown on the cover of the RPG sourcebook (the iconic Bonner piece). Mutant Chronicles always had trouble getting visual pieces to match up with written descriptions. Either way, this version is about the same size as a Panzer VIII Maus (a bit bigger, actually) and should be playable in a more skirmish scale (ends up about the same size as the Land Raider, but a bit taller). But where are the Imperials? No sign or mention of them on the KS as far as I can tell. Mishima and Imperial are coming later. The game was originally shipping in June with Dark Legion, Cybertronic and the Brotherhood. The initial KS level was to fund Bauhaus. Now it has plowed through to Capitol at £80.00 GBPk. Prodos were pretty certain that it wouldn't reach the amount where they would consider launching Mishima or Imperial. So they decided to save them for the near future so they could give them a proper release (since even if they funded in the KS, they probably wouldn't have the extra troops the current factions have). But they are definitely still in there (and there is even a KS-exclusive Mishima character right now). |
