Last summer I ordered up enough resin buildings for a decent sized village from Kieven at Lancer Miniatures link

Originally from Shellhole Scenics, these are beautiful little models and loaded with detail. It's great that Lancer is keeping this excellent line of scenery in production.

I was worried about how I was going paint these, but I have a Battle Group Kursk 'big game' deadline coming up so I decided to pull my thumb out.

Looking for inspiration, I Googled 'Isba' and found no end of cool looking images…

In the end I just threw down some grey primer and went for it.

Lots of Tamiya earth tones through the airbrush, followed by washes of dark oil paints. Details picked out with acrylics or oils.

What I like best about these buildings is that they are really useful; you can get a decent number of minis inside them and they look like they provide different degrees of cover.

Can't recommend these enough. Kieven is a super guy to deal with and these are iconic pieces of gaming kit. Very happy to have finally taken these out of the stash and put them into play. Only six or so more to go….

Very nice! These originally go back to the Queens Hussar from the late 1990s.

Very nice, I would cover the floors with cat litter for rubble though, they look a little swept clean…

lovely job with the shading tones. You should be proud to pput these into play….

Thank you for the encouragement!

Abwehrschlact, I agree the interiors look too clean. Very good point. As I get busy with the rest of this collection I'll look to that detail.

These resin casts really reward a simple paint job of base coat followed by a few washes.

Well done!

Which scale is lancer??

Does it match 28mm?

Cheers.

I am so happy you posted those pics… I have been looking EVERYWHERE for these buildings! I was going to buy around 5 or more years ago but never got around to it. I have bee scouring the web for the last week trying to remember who sold them… And I swore that it was shell hole scenics… To no avail. Thanks! You just made my day brighter (and my wallet lighter!)
