Very good work with tutorial here.
The author said:

"Now I am finally to a (for me) more complex and struggled through difficult project and today started the construction of Weathertop. My rationale was if I should build them with stones or Hirstart with the "usual" stuff like Styrodur etc.. Then I but the exact form required for this Hirstart still missing, but I then resorted to Styrodur.

With the size of Weathertop I had to adhere to the following specification: max area. 30 x 54 cm and maximum height. 18 cm. Because the whole thing is then in my case (in a household with a cat that is not possible otherwise) fit. A great model, and the modelling tutorial and painting was great to read through – Once again you have found a little gem.

Thank you.

The leaf litter just makes it so realistic.

Well done right down to the details (leaves, worn look, etc)!

I love it! I may have to try out that look for the next static model I build that has a base. I think those are real leaves, not the hobby ones that they make. Any thoughts?

firstvarty1979, I'm thinking the same thing. Looks like real leaves "crushed" for use on terrain/bases. If not, then perhaps a mix of kitchen spices of different types for varied texture and color.

That's really cool looking.
