Just how big a difference is there between early 1990's GW metal knight figures and newer post-2000 plastic kit ones? Is the rider an issue, or is the horse, or both? Would older metal riders on newer horses bridge the gulf (if there is one) so that you could mix in one unit? |

I am especially concerned about Empire knights |

I just had a look at what i have, all seem to be getting steadily larger. I checked out the Empire Pistoliers and Chaos cavalry both Knights and Marauders. Its gotten to teh point i am able to mix some of my older Empire cavalry intomy histricial 28mm medievil armys without too much bother in size difference . cheers Tom |

I think the main issue is the horse. The older metal horses are smaller. I am an Empire player. I don't have any older metal empire knights, but I do have a metal Chaos Knight, and it is dwarfed by the big plastic horses. Using the metal riders on the plastic horses should work fine. Cheers, Xin |

As regards horses, Empire knights are still riding the same plastic horses they have been using since 1992. So that should not be a problem. As regards the riders, I do not think there is any major difference in overall size between the current plastics and the metal ones from 1992. However, there are certain stylistical differences. |

It depends on the range. The really early 90's, late 80's that were sold in the large blister boxes of around eight models, they're very close but not 100% match for the Empire knights plastics released early 2000's. If these plastic sets have since been re-sculpted I have no idea. The mid 90's metal Empire knights, the releases including the original White Wolves, are pretty much identical. As noted, the biggest issue is the horse. These vary greatly. |

The 1992+ Empire (plastic horses, metal knights) work 100% with the current plastic Empire knights kit. I mix dozens of them freely. |
