I finished the first ship of the early ironclad pack from tumbling dice the other day. So I thought id post some pictures of her, she is HMS Ocean.

I have to say these miniatures are very impressive, I think some of the best I've had so far from tumbling dice. They are crisp with lots of detail and texture for you to pick out whilst painting, I would thoroughly recommend them.

Beautiful work Ben, as usual! I particularly like the detail in the rigging. Very nice ships!

Lovely stuff.

What's the paint recipe for the base?

It looks very sea-like!

Thanks guys glad you like her,

Texas, I think this is the smallest scale I would rig any smaller and I'm worried the thread would be too thick. But I think it works with the robustness of the tumbling dice sculpts.

Blogger, here's the sea recipe using GW paint

1) Kantor Blue as a base coat
2) Thunderhawk blue as a heavy dry brush
3) Hawk turquoise as lighter dry brush
4) chramite white light dry brush. A line for the bow wave then heavy dry brush in the wake.
5) nuln oil wash all over the base but avoiding bow wave
6)Ardcoat, but not too much

Very nice work Ben. Especially so with 1:2400 scale. Is that your home made sea mat they are sitting on?

Regards,
Vol

Thanks Vol glad you like her. To be honest I find 1:2400 a lot easier to do than 1:1200, but I guess everyone is deferent. I just can't seem to get them to a stage where I'm happy with them at the bigger scale especially with the Langton ships, there's just so much detail to do justice to.

Yup that's my home made sea mat…… I will do a how to honest…. probably quite soon as my board isn't really big enough for bigger battles even at 1:2400.
