Here is a cool website I found with some 19th century slang terms on it. I'm not sure exactly how it will help with battle wargaming but might be of some use for skirmish gamers.

Some of the terms might be very handy outside of the game itself.

19th century! There are a few in there still used here and there – bunch of fives, cupboard love, month of Sundays.
